General words of Advice:


Whatever your project please note, that if you are using the old product to pattern from it may have changed shape over the years, so that may cause problems when it comes to fitting the new version.

There are many ways of attaching or securing covers please choose the method that works best for yourself, or utilises the existing fittings to make your project work for you.

 

Sailcover / Stackpack.

  • Fabric = Acrylic Canvas Uncoated, Top Notch 9,Top Notch 1s, Polyester X.
  • Reinforce patches = PVC.
  • Thread = Outdoor Pro, Tenara.
  • Webbing = Polyprop, Polyester.
  • Zip = Open ended zips, Continuous Zips.
  • Fixings = Buckles, Webbing, Perfix, Sew on hooks, Grommets.
  • Seaming Tape = Venture, Seam it, Shore Tape.
  • Dodger letters (if customising with name).
  • Depending on fastening method under the boom:
  • Webbing (25mm) and side release buckles.
  • Or Sew on Hooks and Eyes.
  • Or Open-ended Zip.
  • Or Grommets and lacing cord or shock cord.

 

Sprayhood / Enclosures / Fly Bridge Covers.

  • Fabric = Acrylic Canvas PU Coated, Serge Ferrari, Top Notch 9,TopNotch 1s.
  • Window = Renolit 20,25,30 thou, Strataglass 30 thou (0.75mm).
  • Reinforce Patches = PVC.
  • Centrefold Binding = Acrylic, Top Notch 9 double folded bias (polyester) bias 22mm. PX Binding.
  • Depending on Fastening method or existing fittings:
  • Sprayhood Track and luff tape (Keder).
  • Surefas = Caf, Caf compo, Qsnap, Perfix.
  • Snap Fasteners.
  • Shock Cord and lacing buttons, Hooks.
  • Sliding bar buckles.

  • If you are rebuilding the Frame, then you will need a combination of Clamps and Endplugs.
